Washington Commanders Fire VP for Comments Made About the League

NFL

A Washington Commanders executive, Rael Enteen, has been fired. Enteen was the Commanders’ Vice President for the last four years. A video emerged earlier this week showing where he was making bad remarks about NFL players, the fans, and the owner of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones. This was not a good look for him and the decision was made today to fire him from his position.

In the video that came about earlier this week, Enteen was making derogatory comments. He was using foul language and was pointing the fingers at nearly everyone in the NFL. He was pulling in things such as religion, sexuality, and race. The comments about Jones were critical making things worse. He called players dumb among other things about other people in the NFL. He also made a comment about NFL commissioner Roger Goodell saying that he was a “$50 million puppet.”

The video was shot back in June and was released on Wednesday of this week. O’Keefe Media Group was the group that had originally shot the video. The video ended up all over social media platforms. They were in a situation where Enteen thought he going out on a date with someone that he was set up with, however, Enteen was wrong because it turned out to be an undercover reporter from O’Keefe Media.

A statement was made by the Washington Commanders that Enteen was suspended until they could conduct a full-on investigation. The Commanders had stated that everything they felt in the video was inappropriate and it goes against the morals that the team itself is supposed to carry. The Commanders made it a point to suspend him until they could fully investigate the situation. However, the suspension simply did not last long, only because it was not even 24 hours before the announcement was made that he was fired.

Enteen was originally hired back in 2020 to be the Senior Director of content for the Washington Commanders. Previously, he had worked for the New York Jets, before coming to Washington. He had been moved into a different position after the team was bought by the current owner Josh Harris. Enteen has locked all of his social media accounts and will not answer any questions at this time.
