What Match Will Main Event Night One of WrestleMania 41?
The card for WrestleMania 41 is slowly being built, with six matches already confirmed for the Grandest Stage Of Them All. The biggest of these is very easily Cody Rhodes vs John Cena for the Undisputed WWE championship. There is little doubt that any other match will be main event Night Two of WrestleMania 41, as Rhodes vs, Cena is being marketed as one of the most important WWE matches ever. That opens up the spot for multiple matches that are more than capable of main eventing night 1 of this year’s show, including world title storylines and highly personal feuds.
The most obvious choice to main event Night One of WrestleMania 41 is the triple threat between Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk. All three of these wrestlers are considered to be legends and future Hall of Famers in their own right, each being multiple-time world champions. Reigns and Rollins came up in the WWE together as members of The Shield, a faction that was creatively formed by Punk himself and has caused problems between Seth and Roman for over a decade. As of recently, the three have been in a blood-thirsty feud, with Punk getting involved in the rivalry that Reigns and Rollins have had for years. With the name value in this triple threat, it makes sense for it to main event WrestleMania Night One, though there are other options.
Gunther vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship is also a respectable choice that the WWE could make. Uso won the WWE 2025 Royal Rumble, a feat that previously would grant the winner an automatic WrestleMania main event, though that has since changed in recent years. There has been some concern regarding this feud though, as many believe that it has gotten stale, as it is not as hot as it was last month. There has also been some controversy regarding Jey, with many believing that he does not deserve a world title opportunity, which is likely the main reason why this match might not main event of WrestleMania 41.
There have also been talks about either women’s world title match main eventing night 1, whether that be Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Championship or Iyo Sky vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship. Stratton vs. Flair is very much a passing-of-the-torch match, whereas the triple threat consists of arguably the three best WWE women’s wrestlers right now. However, it’s unlikely that either of these matches is main eventing Night One given that a women’s match has not headlined the show since 2021. The WWE can go multiple ways with the main event of WrestleMania 41 Night One, and it will certainly be a marquee attraction no matter which way they go.
