What the Bears Could Do with the 10th Pick in the Draft

NFL

The Chicago Bears hold the tenth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, following a 5-12 season where they placed last in their division. After a complete overhaul to their interior offensive line and adding more depth to their defensive trenches, the Bears suddenly fixed positions that needed help in just the first wave of free agency. With a brand-new head coach in Ben Johnson, it has become apparent to the fans of the Windy City that his influence has pushed the Bears front office to make decisions that have been ignored for the past few seasons. With key positions now filled, it has raised the question of what Chicago will do with their tenth pick in the draft.

Will Campbell - OL (LSU)

Despite the Bears reloading their offensive line with new talent, many fans believe that adding more insurance for their future is the key. The LSU standout, Will Campbell, is being considered widely among the league as one of the draft’s best blockers. A part of what Ben Johnson wants is the Bears’ new identity to be offensive-minded, intelligent, and violent blockers. Campbell couldn’t align more with what Johnson is looking for. Going against some of the best teams in the country during his time at LSU, Campbell has been tested at his position, performing to a great standard. While Campbell can play his normal position at left tackle for the Bears, he will be free to be moved around the offensive line and become a long-term solution to certain positions. After all, the Chicago Bears newest acquisition, left tackle Joe Thuney, turns 33 later this year.

Ashton Jeanty - RB (Boise State)

With the main offensive line issues solved, many foresee Ben Johnson looking to replicate what he had in Detroit, a dominant offensive line with a one-two punch at running back. The Boise State star, Ashton Jeanty, has been a name linked to Chicago since the beginning of the off-season. While the Bears have a good running back in D’Andre Swift, it could certainly be an upgrade to the position to add a college standout to push Swift to a cleanup role. Jeanty had a remarkable 2024 season, where he ran for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. After an NFL season that saw a resurgence at the running back position with Eagles star Saquon Barkley hoisting a Super Bowl trophy, Chicago adding more to their running arsenal cannot be ruled out.

Mykel Williams - LB (Georgia)

Having 21 tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles, Georgia talent Mykel Williams is a possible option for the Bears. Meeting with Chicago just last month, Williams has already mentioned being a big fan of Bears general manager Ryan Poles. While the Bears pass rush has had additions already this off-season in defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo and defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, there’s still more room for talent. Getting to the quarterback has been a struggle in the organization for a few years now, with more help being the merrier for this pass-rush attack. While Jeanty and Campbell are more likely decisions for the Bears’ tenth pick, there’s no guarantee that they will be available by the time the pick comes around for Chicago. Williams will be a name to look out for in their decision process.
