What the Upcoming American Race Could Mean for the Grid
After the last races in Singapore, there have been some changes made. One of which is the leaving of the legend, Daniel Ricciardo. This will be an interesting watch for the next race as he is replaced by Liam Lawson from Formula Two. Other things to look out for would be the Mexican on the grid, Sergio Perez, at the Mexico Grand Prix on October 27th. This could definitely assist Red Bull in their climb back up.
The first race coming up is the United States Grand Prix in Texas. Sadly, this is no longer anyone’s home race on the grid this Formula One season, as Logan Sargeant has been removed from Williams. A driver to keep an eye on would be Lando Norris, of course, with his rise in the standings this year. Though everyone needs to be keeping an eye on him, Max Verstappen needs to be keeping an even closer one, going forward. Verstappen is another driver who could be majorly improving these next few races in the Americas. Due to Red Bull’s recent issues and enough time to fix these issues, Verstappen and Perez should be on the rise.
In Mexico, it is, of course, Pérez’s home race. Naturally, attention will be put on him and his improvement. Perez has been in Formula One a very long time, now 13 years between multiple teams. Sadly for him and his fans, he has not won a race since last season in Azerbaijan. Is it time for him to get his next win? It would be very special if it was in his home country later this month.
For the Red Bull racing team, things are going to be a little interesting. Daniel Ricciardo is now out of the picture after 10 years of racing in Formula One and replaced by the New Zealander, Liam Lawson. This is a somewhat uncommon thing to do halfway through the season, but we have already seen it twice now. The first was with Logan Sargeant of the Williams racing team. He was removed and replaced by the young driver, Franco Colapinto. So far, with Colapinto, there has been a noticeable improvement for Williams. So maybe Ricciardo's replacement was the right move. All eyes will be on Lawson in the next few races as well as Perez and Colapinto.
