What’s Next for Logan Paul After His Championship Match with Cody Rhodes?
This past Friday on SmackDown, general manager Nick Aldis told undisputed WWE Champion ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes that he has determined his next opponent for the King and Queen of the Ring premium live event in Saudi Arabia. Just a few moments later, the entrance music for ‘The Maverick’ Logan Paul came on, and the cocky United States Champion walked to the ring. Both Rhodes and Paul verbally went at one another trying to one-up the other in their smack-talking game. However, Rhodes pointed out that the only championship he has not held in the WWE is the United States Championship, if ‘The American Nightmare’ ought to win it he would become a WWE Grand Slam champion. With both titles on the line during this match, it may be becoming more evident by the day that Logan won’t be a champion for much longer.
We can all assume that Logan Paul will lose the United States Championship to Cody Rhodes at the King and Queen of the Ring Tournament during their championship versus championship match. If that does happen, the big question for the owner of Prime is what path his career will be heading in next. There’s no doubt that Paul has brought an enormous amount of commercial success to the WWE, with Prime being one of the few sponsors the WWE promotes. At premium live events, they even have an advertised Prime bottle located in the middle of the ring. Paul has stated recently in his feud with Cody Rhodes that the social media superstar is the main reason for the WWE’s recent success. With ‘The Maverick’ winning the United States championship at Crown Jewel back in November, he has become the longest current reigning champion at 192 days into his first reign with the US Championship.
With the social media star residing on SmackDown, there’s a good chance that Logan will try to do whatever it takes to get another rematch with Cody when the opportunity arises. If he does not get his rematch, I expect Paul to heavily seek another championship. Whether he starts an immediate feud with another champion or becomes a big-time player in an important feud, Paul will have his hands busy when it comes to working at WWE. To me, I think this gives him an opportunity to become an underdog at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Depending on what happens at the end of the fiscal year, the young star will be on the search or have another belt in his grasp. Regardless, Logan Paul will be a huge player in WWE’s future, he will have his shine, it just depends on when and where.
