Where Do The 76ers Sit in NBA Draft Lottery Odds?

The Philadelphia 76ers have now lost their last 11 games and 17 of their last 20 games following a 114-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. The team has won just three times since the beginning of March, and the tank is continuing to work to perfection for Philadelphia’s front office. As the franchise’s 2025 first-round pick is top-six protected, the Sixers are continuing to lose to increase their chances of keeping the pick. With just four games left on Philly’s regular season schedule, this last sum of games will be crucial for the Sixers’ NBA Draft Lottery odds, as the different between the team having the fifth-highest odds to land the top overall pick and the sixth-highest odds to land it can make or break the entire situation for Philly whether the team will get to keep its top-six protected pick or not. So, let’s take a look at where the 76ers stand today in the Lottery odds.

The Sixers currently sit at 23-55 on the season, good for the fifth-worst record in the NBA. If Philadelphia stays in this spot, this will give the team the fifth-best odds to land the top overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft but also increase the chances greatly of the Sixers landing in the top six and keeping their pick, as opposed to Philadelphia finishing with the sixth-worst record in the league. As it currently stands, the 76ers have a 10.5% chance to land the first overall pick, a 19.6% chance to earn the sixth overall pick, and a 26.7% chance to slot in at the seventh overall pick. If Philly rises to the sixth-worst record in the NBA, those odds shift to a 10% chance to earn the first pick, a 29.8% chance to earn the seventh pick, and most importantly, a massive drop to an eight-and-a-half percent chance for the franchise to land the sixth pick. Again, if the pick falls outside of the top six, it goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Philadelphia might even have a chance to get to the fourth-worst record in the NBA by the regular season’s end if the Sixers lose out. The team currently in that spot is the New Orleans Pelicans, which has won two of their last five games and sits with a 21-56 record on the season. With the Sixers being just a game and a half in front of New Orleans, if the Sixers lose out and the Pelicans win one or two more, that can drastically improve the Sixers’ odds to keep their first-round pick. If the 76ers can get to the fourth-worst record in the league, their odds to land the first overall pick shoot up to 12.5%, their odds to land the sixth pick go to 25.7%, and their odds to land the seventh pick drop to 16.7%. So as of today, the Sixers sit with the fifth-worst record in the NBA. With a few more losses to close out the regular season and some help from the Pelicans, the Sixers can increase their odds of keeping their first-rounder even more.
