Why ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio Is One of the Best Heels in the Business
‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, member of The Judgement Day has been one of the top heels in the WWE since turning on his father Rey back in 2022. One of the biggest times we first saw Dom on camera was back in 2005 when his father Rey was feuding with Eddie Guerrero over the custody of Dominik. Now a heel, we’ve seen Rey’s son mirror and gimmick the late great Guerrero. In the faction of The Judgement Day, Mysterio has been the right-hand man to the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, who refers to herself as Dom’s ‘Mami’. With his age, skill, and timetable as a wrestler, Dominik has the capability to be one of the best professional wrestlers of all time.
Even two nights ago, Ripley and the challenger for the Women’s World Champion ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch had a heating promo inside the ring, where Rhea brought up Lynch’s daughter. As the two stepped closer to each other’s faces, the young Mysterio was there to set the two women apart. Becky sarcastically felt that was really kind of Dominik, who separated two women, when most times in the world two men have to be separated by a woman. Dominik was shocked and confused, with his mouth completely dropped. As Becky stared into ‘Dirty’ Dom’s eyes, she gave a full swing to the cheek with her all might. Mysterio fell outside the squared circle immediately and would have to deal with another few minutes of trying to separate his ‘Mami’ and Lynch. His gimmick of being an extremely arrogant youth with street credibility when he has none of that at all is truly something fans won’t ever forget. Michael Cole is even commentating on how much he can’t stand the young Mysterio.
One hysterical moment by Dominik Mysterio occurred a few weeks ago. He was repeatedly getting chopped in the chest by Intercontinental Champion Gunther. Dom’s ‘Mami’ was attending to him and while the camera was on him backstage, both Ripley and Mysterio flipped out. ‘Dirty Dom’ told the cameraman “Go get me some tendies” while Ripley adds “With ranch” will be a promo that people will always look back on with a smile and a laugh. We may not know how long Mysterio will have Ripley as his ‘Mami’ but, this chapter of professional wrestling within the WWE has become legendary, and makes viewers from all across the world tune in to it. Dominik is on the right path career-wise, and we fans are excited to see what his young great career holds, as he could go down as one of the most interesting heels of all time.
