Why the WrestleMania 41 Triple Threat Main Event May Not Exceed Expectations

WWE

At WrestleMania 41, the storyline with Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins doesn't quite seem big enough to headline the show. The story is built around the idea that the winner gets Paul Heyman as their manager, which on paper sounds interesting. However, casual fans might be left scratching their heads, wondering why these top-tier wrestlers need someone like Heyman when they've already made it to the top without him. This makes the stakes feel a bit forced, especially for a match that's supposed to be the main event of WrestleMania.

If Roman Reigns wins, nothing changes for him. He’s been dominant for years, with Heyman already in his corner, so adding another victory wouldn’t have much of an impact on his established character. Reigns has already reached the top, and the win wouldn’t do much to elevate him further. His character will just remain stagnant. If CM Punk wins, he would gain Heyman as his manager, but it’s tough to see how this would improve Punk’s chances. Punk is already a well-rounded performer, so the dynamic wouldn’t necessarily change the outcome of his matches. Heyman will most likely just be an extra addition, with no added characteristics to CM Punk’s character.

On the other hand, if Seth Rollins wins, it opens up more possibilities. Heyman would likely turn on Reigns, potentially setting up a heel turn for Rollins. This could breathe new life into the storyline, especially with Rollin’s past connection to John Cena’s Elimination Chamber victory. A potential alliance with Heyman could also lead to a shocking twist, where it's revealed that they’ve been working with The Rock all along, adding even more intensity to an already heated rivalry. While having Paul Heyman involved could offer some potential for character development, the storyline feels a bit underwhelming for a WrestleMania main event. Casual fans might struggle to see why "getting Heyman" is such a big deal, especially since these superstars have already proven they can dominate without his help. It’s a storyline that seems to lack the depth and intrigue needed to match the excitement and spectacle that WrestleMania is known for.
