Wildfires Postpone California NBA and Move NFL Play-Off Game

NBA

The NBA has just announced that Thursday night’s game between the Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers which was going to take place in Los Angeles is going to be postponed due to the wildfires that are going on in the area. The game's tip-off was supposed to take place at 7:30 P.M. The league is closely monitoring the situation as to when the team will get to play in their home arena again. They are going to take it day by day.

The next game the Lakers are set to play is against San Antonio Spurs on Saturday which was supposed to take place at the Lakers' home in the Crypto Arena. This announcement came a day after the league stated they were to keep a close eye on everything that was going on. The members of the organization are trying to sort through the current devastation that has affected the Lakers team all around. This has affected everyone in the area, celebrities, athletes, and many others. Lakers head coach JJ Redick who had been renting a home with his family was evacuated on Tuesday from the area. Clipper star, Kawhi Leonard who just returned, also missed Wednesday’s game to be with his family after they were also evacuated from their home. Many others around the league have also been affected.

The NBA is going to take its time and figure out what they are going to do for the Lakers team and many other NBA players before returning to the courts. So many of the players in the area have been affected and many have already lost a lot. The NBA may not have games for a short period and move to the other side of the country for a bit until things get sorted out. The NBA may not also be the only one affected by these wildfires. The NFL may also be affected this coming weekend for the Wild Card game with the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams game. If push comes to shove, this game may move to Arizona. Both leagues will be keeping an eye on the situation at hand and the safety of their players and their families as they move forward during this time.
