Will Drew McIntyre Win the World Heavyweight Championship in His Hometown of Scotland?

WWE

“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre has his chance to win back the World Heavyweight Championship in his hometown of Scotland at Clash of the Castle against the current champion, Damian Priest. It was just over two months ago at WrestleMania 40 when Drew McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship and held it for a total of five minutes and 46 seconds before immediately losing it to Damian Priest after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Priest took advantage of a vulnerable Drew McIntyre following an attack from CM Punk after the match. For weeks, Drew McIntyre has been blaming Punk for his failures causing Damian Priest to keep coming out telling McIntyre that it’s his fault he lost the title, not Punk’s. As of last night on Raw, McIntyre told Priest that he is over CM Punk and is now focused on the task at hand, the World Heavyweight Championship.

Also occurring last night on Raw, Drew McIntyre defeated Finn Balor in the main event to ensure that the Judgement Day will be barred from ringside for the World Heavyweight Championship match at Clash at the Castle. This stipulation was made for the main event by Damian Priest because Drew McIntyre thinks that Priest can’t win a match without the help of the Judgement Day. Damian will now have a chance to prove McIntyre wrong with a one-on-one matchup with no help. Can Damian Priest retain his title without any help from the Judgement Day and in front of a hostile crowd? Can Drew McIntyre get the job done and have his moment in his hometown of Scotland with all the cheering fans backing him?

This match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre should be the most interesting because all the fans will be in McIntyre’s corner and he’s considered the underdog in this match as Priest is the champion. This match could go the distance as these two powerhouses will pound away at each other for its entirety. If McIntyre were to lose this match, where would he go from there after losing in front of his family and friends? Could we possibly see CM Punk come in and cost McIntyre the match, setting up a future bout for the two of them at SummerSlam?
