Will Tama Tonga be Crowned the Next King of the Ring?

WWE

Since making his WWE debut on the post-WrestleMania XL episode of SmackDown on April 12th, 2024, Tama Tonga has been an immediate force, and one to reckon with. During his debut, he brutally attacked and was inducted into The Bloodline stable. The MFT has been on the warpath with wrestlers like the great “Viper” Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens. Tonga and his cousin Solo Sikoa wrestled both Orton and Owens at Backlash, WWE’s premium live event that took place in Lyon, France. During the SmackDown portion of the King of the Ring Tournament, the MFT has defeated Angelo Dawkins, and LA Knight and will now face Orton in the Semifinals of this historic tournament. The winner of the Tonga/Orton match will face either “Main Event” Jey Uso or “The Ring General” Gunther

With Tama’s brother Tanga Loa being introduced into The Bloodline, there is definitely a good chance there will be some sort of interference with the stable when the MFT faces the 14-time world champion, Orton. Whether the “Viper” can overcome the interference remains uncertain, but he should be ready for any vicious attack that may come his way. The Bloodline is looking to prove why they should be back on top with Sikoa now in charge. This could be the opportunity to showcase why The Bloodline and the MFT are so formidably brutal. The son of WWE Hall of Famer Haku, and The Bloodline are certainly looking to be in Saudi Arabia when the King and Queen of the Ring Tournament takes place, and they’ll do absolutely whatever it takes. Orton’s only other appearance in this tournament during his career was back in 2006 when he lost to Kurt Angle in the first round of the 2006 King of the Ring Tournament.

If Tama makes it to the finals of this tournament, both of the potential superstars from RAW would be intriguing to see against the great MFT. Tonga could face his own family in Jey Uso or he will face the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time in Gunther. Perhaps, if Tama goes up against Gunther, and The Bloodline shows how much of a force they are in the WWE, there’s a slim chance we could see “The Ring General” turn face. The WWE has shown the dominance of The Bloodline stable, but with Sikoa in charge, they’ve become deadlier, and harder to handle. Tama Tonga has a one-and-four chance to be named the 2024 King of the Ring, and if he does be sure to be on the lookout to challenge someone like Cody Rhodes for his title.
