Will the Heat Lose Their Eighth Game in a Row?
Tonight, the Miami Heat will face the Sacramento Kings in Sac-Town for a very important, and decisive matchup. If the Heat win, they’ll end a rough seven game skid they’ve been on, while if they’re defeated, Miami’s losing streak will continue, and they’ll drop to an even .500 record at 24-24. Last year’s Eastern Conference champions will be looking to change how things are going before the NBA All-Star break. Let’s look into this Miami Heat team’s losing streak.
Miami’s losing streak started on January 17th, when the Heat fell 121-97 to the Toronto Raptors. Since then, the Heat have lost to the Hawks, Magic, Grizzlies, Celtics, Knicks, and the Phoenix Suns. Most of these losses have been by ten points or more, the only matchup that was even remotely close was when Miami fell 109-108 to Atlanta. Last Thursday in the Heat’s loss against the Celtics, Miami was blown out by 33 points. Since coming to Miami via trade, Terry Rozier has severely struggled. Rozier scored nine, and seven points in his first two games with the team. He had ten points in the loss against the Knicks, while scoring 21 in the team’s last loss which was against the Phoenix Suns.
This Heat team may play some easier teams to defeat like the Spurs and the Wizards, but before the break, Miami will have to face the Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Philadelphia 76ers. If the Heat don’t break this losing streak soon, we could see this team in some trouble. They’re currently the seventh seed and would have the best opportunity to reach the playoffs going into the Play-In Tournament, but we could watch that all slip away if this Heat team does not find some answers. While they did reach the NBA Finals last season as the eighth seed, the Heat do not want to go down the same road they did last season, as by the time this team made the Finals, they were worn out and exhausted. Will this Miami Heat team find some answers, and start winning ball games?
