Winston and Nabers: New York's New Dynamic Duo
The Giants have not had an offensive dynamic duo since Saquon Barkley left the Giants and signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles two seasons ago. Daniel Jones was lost and could not find his way after Barkley's departure, which was one reason they let him go. This coming season should look better than it has been for finding the Giant's new duo, and it has already been found. They have had wide receiver Malik Nabers, who had a great rookie season, and now they have signed the 2015 first-round pick, Jameis Winston, for the next two seasons. Together, these two are the perfect duo to make things happen for the Giants.
Winston has an aggressive style while playing on the field. He tries to get the ball out there with intensity and already shows much positivity among Giants fans. He has accuracy and speed, which boosts his teammates going forward. His career stats are 24,225 yards, 154 touchdowns, and 111 interceptions. His passing rating is 84.6 percent. It’s not terrible for a quarterback who has played for 11 seasons. Winston's stats reflect his experience and the impact he's had throughout his career. He has already played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints. Last season, Winston played with the Cleveland Browns. He knows where he wants the ball to go and how he wants to do it.
Nabers is just coming off of a great start to his NFL career. His first season with the Giants was nothing but spectacular. This wide receiver got the ball for 109 receiving catches for 1,204 yards. That's the most for any rookie wide receiver in the league. On average, he would run 11 yards in his running streaks. Nabers also had the most touchdowns last season for the Giants, with seven total for the season.
Pairing these two up will be one of the most extraordinary things the Giants have ever done with this management team. With Winston's playing style and Naber's ability to move down the field, the Giants may be able to score more touchdowns this coming season. However, it won’t only be them; they need the help of the other offense on the offensive line. Winston and Nabers have shown what it’s like to have the heart of a Giant. Something that the New York team has been missing for the last several seasons. Both this quarterback and wide receiver have shown in the league that they have the heart in what it takes to play football. An area that the Giants have not had for the last six years. Hopefully, with the newcomers, there will be a turnaround.
