All-Pro Safety Signs with the Dolphins
Miami - The Buffalo Bills have released All-Pro safety, Jordan Poyer as of Wednesday, March 6th. The move to part ways with Poyer comes from the lack of cap space available in the Bills organization. The duo between him and Micah Hyde created an elite secondary for the Bills’ defense. He has spent his last seven seasons playing for the Bills but has now found a new home with the Miami Dolphins as they have given Poyer a one-year deal.
Poyer was originally drafted in the 2013 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round out of Oregon State. He did not have much luck with the Eagles organization and then was signed by the Browns for the 2014-2016 seasons. In 2017, he started his time with the Bills and co-safety, Micah Hyde. They have started a total of 92 games together so it is safe to say the Bills secondary will look much different next year.
Over his 11-year career in the NFL, he has 24 interceptions, 54 passes defended, nine forced fumbles, 806 tackles, and 12 sacks. Poyer received All-Pro honors in 2021 and received the Pro Bowl invitation a year later in 2022. He did not have his best season overall this past year but is looking to put it behind him with his new team. He has been extremely productive for the last seven years and will look to continue his production with the Dolphins.
