Best Bets of Week Seven
With the NFL entering Week Seven, we are quickly approaching the midway point of the season. This is an important time for teams as they try to assess whether they should push to be contenders or initiate a rebuild with the trade deadline quickly approaching. We have already seen several big moves this past week and we can expect more coaching and player moves to happen in the coming weeks. Therefore, betters can capitalize on coaches’ and players' desperation to correct their rough start to the season. So what are some key matchups that provide favorable lines to betters in week seven of the NFL season?
Philadelphia Eagles -3 vs. New York Giants
This NFC East matchup should serve as a good reminder to the Giants that they should have never let Saquon Barkley walk in free agency. The Eagles are still not where they want to be on the season, as they have started 3-2. However, with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley in the backfield, they are hoping that this offensive combo should be enough to win games in the meantime. This Giants offense, led by Daniel Jones, is one of the worst in the league. This means that in this matchup, the Giants will have to depend upon their strong defense, which is a top-10 unit in the league. However, in the NFL, you have to score points to win. Therefore, the Eagles should win this game by at least a touchdown.
Indianapolis Colts -3 vs. Miami Dolphins
The Colts enter into this matchup with their starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson, returning to the lineup. The Dolphins have been notoriously awful on offense ever since their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, went down a few weeks ago to yet another concussion. The Dolphins, through six games, are only averaging 12 points per game, which is by far the worst in the league despite having Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, and others. Tyler Huntley has shown that he is not capable of running this offense, and as a result, this team is likely to lose this matchup against the Colts.
Los Angeles Rams -7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
The Rams are finally getting slightly healthier, with Cooper Kupp likely to return to the team this week. Kyren Williams and Matthew Stafford will finally get some help spreading the ball around offensively. However, the Raiders are now completely desolate as Davantae Adams has now officially been traded away to the New York Jets ahead of this matchup. The Raiders are now without any dynamic players on the offensive side of the ball, except for Brock Bowers. However, Aidan O’Connell is not a competent starting quarterback in this league, and I’d expect the Rams to start a resurgence for their season as they win this game-handedly.
