Buffalo Bills Extend Star Wide Receiver’s Contract
With the NFL season over, the contract extension period has opened up. Already, the Buffalo Bills have started making their moves. They decided to lock in one of the biggest offensive weapons that they have today, the Bills, and one of the team's wide receivers, Khalil Shakir came to an agreement on new terms for a massive contract extension. The Bills are more than thrilled to keep him on and have him for several more years and Shakir is hoping to help this team take a trip to Super Bowl 60 next season.
The contract entails a four-year contract extension that is worth up to $60.2M, and it includes $32M guaranteed at the signing. Shakir will be paid $18M per season. He will now be playing with the Bills through the 2029 season. The news of this contract extension comes from Ian Rapoport. Shakir had plenty to work with on the Bills in the 2024 season. The 25-year-old wide receiver and star quarterback Josh Allen linked up 76 times this season with Shakir amassing 821 receiving yards. Without Shakir on the field, the Bills maybe would not have made it as far as they did this past season.
Shakir was Allen's most reliable guy. For the 2024 season, he had 120 targets in total for both the regular and the postseason. He also recorded seven touchdowns. The Bills are thrilled to have Shakir. He made a huge impact on this team during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, the 2025 season shouldn’t be any different. Hopefully, Buffalo can get over the hump and finally make the Super Bowl after years of constantly falling short.
