Can the Dolphins Survive the Frozen Tundra of Green Bay?

NFL

The Miami Dolphins are set to take on the Green Bay Packers tomorrow night to conclude Thanksgiving football in what is a crucial game for both sides. The Dolphins suffered several injuries early on this season that got them out to a slow start, but after winning three straight games, they are attempting to get back into the running for an AFC Wild Card spot. Meanwhile, for Green Bay, they find themselves in third place in the NFC North Division despite a strong 8-3 record. Both of these teams need a win in this game to put themselves in the best position down the stretch to make the playoffs, so who is likely to come out of this game feeling thankful for the win?

For the Dolphins, they have historically severely struggled to deal with cold weather games. Tua Tagovailoa is especially bad in cold weather games as he is 0-7 in his career playing in games with a temperature below 40 degrees. This offense historically has been dependent on Tua playing well and letting the ball fly, which is why they struggle in the cold. They will need the ground game to get going early against Green Bay. If the ground game with De’Von Achane and company can’t get any traction, then Tua will likely struggle as a result, as the temperature in Green Bay is set to be 28 degrees at kickoff.

For the Packers, they are built well to handle this game. Josh Jacobs has been a beast on the ground as he has assembled nearly 1,000 yards on the season and seven touchdowns, with three of them coming in his most recent game against the 49ers. Jordan Love has been a bit up and down this season, as he has seen a significant increase in interceptions when compared to a year ago. If Jordan Love can play under control in this game and not turn the ball over, then they have a much better chance of winning this game. The key for the Packers is simple, give Josh Jacobs the ball, and don’t turn the ball over. If the Packers get behind in this game, then Love may have to throw more, and the result of that could either be really good or really bad.
