Dalvin Cook Signs with the Ravens

NFL

Back in August, Dalvin Cook signed with the New York Jets in hopes of pursuing a Super Bowl championship. With the Jets plans for a title crumbling in Week One after Aaron Rodgers tore his ACL, New York and Cook have agreed to part ways. Dalvin has fresh legs, after barely being minimized by the Jets, and now has agreed to sign with the Baltimore Ravens. Let’s look into Dalvin’s 2023 stats and how he’ll look with his new team.

Although Cook won’t play in the Ravens' Week 18 game against the Steelers, he’ll suit up for the team’s first playoff game either on January 20th or January 21st. Since Baltimore has clinched the first seed in the AFC, they’ll have a bye during the Wild Card round, and move on straight to the Divisional Series round. In 15 games played and in 67 carries, Dalvin Cook ran for 214 yards, and with 15 receptions he had 78 yards. Cook didn’t score a touchdown while being a member of the Jets, even though he had 52 touchdowns during his first six NFL seasons. The four-time Pro Bowl running back’s best game with New York had to be on December 3rd against the Atlanta Falcons. In nine carries, Dalvin had 35 yards in a 13-8 loss.

For the second straight season, the Baltimore Ravens have dealt with serious injuries to their backfield. This season they lost JK Dobbins after one game, and rookie running back Keaton Mitchell to a season-ending injury. Baltimore has a backfield that currently features another Pro Bowl running back in Melvin Gordon, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill. Now on a team that can contend to win it all, will Dalvin Cook thrive with the Ravens?
