Daniel Bellinger: The Giants’ Possible New Threat

NFL

Daniel Bellinger is emerging as a significant force for the New York Giants. In a recent joint practice, he demonstrated his potential to be the tight end the Giants need this season. Despite the presence of rookie Theo Johnson, Bellinger has elevated his performance, becoming the go-to player for the quarterbacks on the field. During the recent practice, Bellinger showcased his skills. He broke free during the joint practice at training camp and caught a touchdown pass from backup quarterback Tommy DeVito. This impressive play not only bodes well for the Giants but also provides them with an opportunity to evaluate Bellinger's potential impact on the team.

Bellinger has been with the Giants for three seasons. He has done a great job on the field when he has had the chance to play. New York selected him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Last season, he got to step in when Waller was sidelined for five games. During his time on the field, Bellinger played 87% of the snaps thrown on the field. He posted an 11-138-0 receiving yard line on 12 targets. For the tight end, the team's offense is expected to struggle throughout the season. However, he should be a bonus after some of the plays he has been making in practice and preseason games when he does get the chance to be on the field.

The stats for Bellinger came back decent. Bellinger has played in 29 games with the Giants. He has a career total of 55 receptions, 63 targets, and 523 yards. He has scored two big blue touchdowns in his career playtime. Bellinger definitely has what it takes to start for the Giants. However, since Darren Waller’s retirement, he may have to compete with rookie Theo Johnson for the position. He is bulked up and is already a machine for the Giants this year. This year, he is proving that he can be so much better than last year for the Giants if he is to start this coming season.
