Daniel Jones Will Start at Pittsburgh

NFL

The New York Football Giants are preparing for tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Many fans have asked whether Daniel Jones is the starting quarterback, and the answer is yes. Even after last week's game against Philadelphia, Jones will start. The Giants have opted to keep him on, per head coach Brian Daboll. They don’t plan to keep him on a short leash in this game.

During last week's game, Jones was sent to the bench in the previous ten minutes before the game ended. Drew Lock was to step in and take over for the time being.  Lock became a decent alternative to Jones. It may be a matter of time before the change is officially made on the field. If things don’t go as planned in this game against the Steelers, the future may not look bright for Jones and the Giants.

Daboll said that Jones would play indefinitely no matter what happens for this team. None of the other Giants players have been pushing for a change, but many fans have been hoping to see some change to bring the spark back for the Giants. Many of them have agreed that if the Giants had resigned former backup Tyrod Taylor, it would have made a difference for them to push for the official benching of Jones. There may be a huge possibility of this at the end of the season. Their current record stands at 2-5, and no one knows how the game against the Steelers will play out. If Jones is benched by the end of the season, the Giants may let him go into free agency. It will be easier to let him go if this is the case.

Jones has been struggling since last week's game and has tried not to let it bother him, as the other games have for the rest of the season. He came to practice this week ready to go and trying to show them he can be the quarterback the Giants need. He is not the same player as in 2022 when he led the Giants to the playoffs. Jones knows he is very close to the Giants' chopping block from the Giants roster at this point in the season.
