Former Three-Point Contest Winner Announces Retirement

NBA

Ten-year veteran Joe Harris has announced his retirement after 10 years in the league. After several successful seasons in Brooklyn with the Nets, Harris could not come up with any success last season in Detroit. Harris played just 16 games for the Pistons last season before ultimately being waived near the All-Star break. After talks of potential trades did not go through, the Pistons decided to part ways with the three-point specialist.

Harris could not find his shooting abilities to be kept around any longer, as he shot just 33% from beyond the arc in a short sample size. Pair his shooting struggles with nagging injuries throughout the first half of the season, Harris found himself taking a back seat from an NBA roster. Now, Harris will enjoy his retirement. In Brooklyn, Harris led the league in three-point percentage in two different seasons, while also winning the three-point contest in 2019. After supplying the Nets with 14.5 points per game at one point during his career, Harris has finally concluded his NBA career.
