Four-Time Pro Bowl Defensive End Signs to the Seahawks
This past season, the Dallas Cowboys ended up being one giant disappointment. For a team that had Super Bowl aspirations, Dallas surely fell short of expectations with a 7-10 record. For defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the 2024 season was one to surely forget. The 32-year-old played just four games before suffering a foot injury that kept him out for the rest of the season. Now a free agent, it was just reported that the four-time Pro Bowl defensive end signed with the Seahawks on a $42 million deal.
Lawrence was selected by the Cowboys as the 34th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. A few times through his career, it has seemed like Dallas had the opportunity to cause some real damage and become a top Super Bowl contender, however, time and time again this team always fell short whether that was during the regular season or playoffs. Especially when the 32-year-old’s play was at its peak. With the Seahawks, the four-time Pro Bowl defensive end is looking for the one thing he’s been missing in his career, a Super Bowl championship.
In 2024, Lawrence played just four games. He recorded 14 combined tackles, seven solo and seven assisted along with four tackles for losses and three sacks. In a Week One 33-17 win against the Cleveland Browns, the four-time Pro Bowl defensive end recorded five combined tackles, four solo and one assisted as well as three tackles for losses and two sacks. Hopefully, with the Seahawks, Lawrence returns to his Pro Bowl form and dominates the league as he once did.
