Grand Canyon Antelopes Wins Third WAC Tournament Championship Game in Four Years!

The Grand Canyon Antelopes have been the team to beat in the Western Athletic Conference. Last night, the Antelopes won their third WAC Tournament Championship Game, in the past four years, as they defeated the Texas-Arlington Mavericks 89-74. A ton of props to the Texas-Arlington Mavericks who made their first WAC Championship Game since 2013. Let’s look into how the Antelopes came out victorious!

During the first half, Grand Canyon had themselves a four-point lead heading into the locker room, as these two teams were determined for the win. Both teams went on a scoring rampage during the final 20 minutes of action. The Antelopes dropped 53 points during the second half and outscored the Mavericks 53-42 to capture the 15-point win, and another WAC Championship for this school’s program. Four of the Antelopes players scored in double digits to ensure the win.

Tyon Grant-Foster led the Antelopes with 22 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Rayshon Harrison had 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists for Grand Canyon.
