Hornets Look to Get Back on Track Against Reeling Kings

NBA

The Charlotte Hornets have lost six out of their last seven games but will look to get back in the win column against the Sacramento Kings on April 4th. The Hornets are trying to finish the season in the most substantial way possible. Injuries have been a big blow to the team this season as they have lost LaMelo Ball to knee and wrist injuries this year. The five-year starter is going to get surgery in hopes of making a full recovery for next season. The Kings have won one game in their last eight and are holding on to the last Play-In spot. This would be a great opportunity for both teams to get a win to build confidence before the end of the season.

Charlotte has been relying on Miles Bridges and Mark Williams to hold down the fort as the season reaches its end. Bridges is continuing to put up consistent numbers during his hot stretch. Williams is averaging a double-double this season even after missing a majority of the season with back issues. His matchup with Domantas Sabonis will be the determining factor in the game as both players are relentless on the glass and have dominated in the paint this season. Sabonis has been a bright spot for the Kings since they traded their star player at the trade deadline. The Center is coming off an 18-point, 16-rebound game against the Washington Wizards. This was his 55th double-double of the season, tying him with Nikola Jokic for the league lead.

Both teams will have their hands full with the other as they are both near the bottom of the league in total defense. However, the Kings could have the advantage in a tight game with the stars that they have such as DeMar DeRozan. He has been known to come up clutch in key moments. The 15-year pro is averaging 22 points this year on 48 percent shooting. Zach Lavine could also be a problem due to his size, length, and shot-making ability. The former UCLA Bruin is shooting 50 percent from the field and 43 percent from three. If the Hornets are not clicking on all cylinders then they could be staring at another loss on their record.
