Knicks Secure Huge Victory

NBA

This season has been very impressive for both the Knicks and the Celtics as they came into this game both top three in the conference. Both teams have been led by MVP-caliber seasons from Jalen Brunson and Jayson Taytum as the playoffs are coming up. Tonight's game was back and forth throughout but the fact that the Celtics had nothing to play for at this point really showed. Even if the Celtics were to lose out this year, they would still be the one seed in the east by a large margin.

At halftime, the game was 69-48 after a 17-0 Knicks run at one point late in the second quarter. Brunson put together an impressive performance in the half and continued his hot streak of recent. In the second half, much of the same happened for the Knicks as they still couldn't seem to miss. The Celtics on the other hand contented to struggle. No player on the Celtics managed to score more than 20 points which is extremely rare. The impressive 39-point Performance from Brunson wasn't the only thing fueling the Knicks to victory tonight though. Josh Hart also made a huge impact on the stats sheet scoring 16 points to go along with 16 rebounds as well. Hart has proven to be one of the best rebounding guards in the league in his time with the Knicks. This 118-109 victory for the Knicks is huge in their push for the second seed in the playoffs this season.

For the Celtics, the best plan of action may be to sit their starters for the rest of the season until the playoffs. There is no reason to risk potential injuries to the players with the East already clinched. This game was a great matchup however it is quite possible we see these teams matching up again in the playoffs. That depends on if the Knicks clinch the second or third seed in the East.
