Kylian Mbappé Leaves PSG
This transfer saga has been a very long and nerve-racking ride, but it finally comes to an end. Kylian Mbappé has officially announced that he will be leaving PSG after seven seasons at the French club. He has achieved so much with PSG, but he didn’t get the most important prize he wanted at the club, which is a Champions League trophy. While at the French Club, he has won six Ligue 1 Titles, three French Cups, and two French League Cups. He has had many superstar teammates and also played with arguably the greatest player of all time. Mbappé has had many firepower with him, such as Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Di Maria, Thiago Silva, and the list goes on. Many people raise the question of why he couldn’t achieve the major goal for PSG, which is winning the Champions League. Which many believe is why he is leaving is because he wants to go to a club where winning UCLs is for fun. There is much speculation that Mbappé is going to Spain to join the Spanish super club Real Madrid.
Kylian has come very close to finally raising the trophy for his club. In 2020, he would come up short in the final against a Bayern Munich team that went on to win the Treble. French player Kingsley Coman would score a header in the 59th minute to help Bayern win 1-0 and win their sixth Champions League trophy. After this, PSG would go on to sign many different players that they thought would help them finally win the Champions League. After 2020, they wouldn’t sniff another final. In 2024, they would go on to play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final and lose 2-0 on aggregate. After this game, Mbappé decided that two days later he would announce his departure on all of his social platforms. Journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Real Madrid getting Mbappé is basically a done deal, and it will be announced very soon. When you look at the success of a club like Real Madrid, it would be the perfect place for Kylian to join to win his first Champions League trophy. Real Madrid has 14 Champions League trophies, which is just out of this world. They are also in the final that is taking place in Wembley, in which they are taking on German team Borussia Dortmund.
For Real Madrid, this raises questions about how they will line up next season. Kylian Mbappé much prefers to play off the left wing, and that's where Brazilian star Vinícius Jr plays and shines. Carlo Ancelotti has been using many different formations to help use the talent that Real Madrid has. They just bought English star Jude Bellingham, who has been arguably one of the best players in the world throughout the season. The manager uses the 4-2-2-2 formation, in which Vinícius can have more of a free role and also play through the center. Jude has an advanced role as a CM in which he is involved in most of the attacks. Also allows Rodrygo to play more toward the left but also puts a shift in off the right. Another formation that Real Madrid has used is the 4-3-2-1, in which Jude can be seen in more attacking positions, which has resulted in his success in the final third. When it comes to Madrid, they most likely have a plan for how they will fit all of this star power into one team. The football world always saw this coming, but it feels surreal that it’s happening in real time now. Will Kylian Mbappé finally achieve his dream of lifting a Champions League trophy?
