Malik Nabers: The New Giants Legend
Malik Nabers is already making strides in his rookie season. No rookie has been this exciting since the days of Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. He has only played in three regular-season games, minus the preseason games. Nabers has already proven to his team that he has what it takes to be a Giant. In the game against Cleveland, he made an even bigger breakout than he already had. Nabers has broken records and made NFL history, and he is only in his rookie season.
In this week's game, Nabers caught two touchdown passes. This was in the first half, but Nabers caught a touchdown with a twisting grab. Following that, with only 11 seconds left of the first half, Nabers then went for a second touchdown in the first half with the help of Daniel Jones. After the second touchdown, Nabers became the youngest wide receiver in NFL history to have two receiving touchdowns in a single game. Nabers is only 21 years and 56 days old. The only other person who set this mark was Mike Evans back in 2014 when he was 21 years and 73 days old—in total, Nabers had six catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns after the first two quarters of the game.
Nabers has proven to be the Giants' next big thing. He has managed to adapt to each of the defensive lines he has faced in the last three games, starting with the game against Minnesota and ending with the most recent game against Cleveland. He has scored at least one or moved the ball up the field to help with the more significant plays. He has also proven himself to be one of the most trusted players for Jones, passing the ball to him.
Nabers' numbers are beginning to match those of former Giants Barkley and Beckham Jr. He has become the first player in NFL history to record 20+ receptions, 250+ yards, and three-plus touchdowns in his first three career games. The NFL and the Giants themselves have never seen anything like it. Nabers is already a legend on the field, and hopefully, the Giants will be able to keep him going for future games.
