Miles Bridges Puts up Consecutive 40-Point Games
The Charlotte Hornets may be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season, and they’ll have a lot of decisions to make come time for the offseason. Last night, Charlotte lost 123-117 to the Toronto Raptors with Hornets forward Miles Bridges leading all scorers with 45 points. In the Hornet’s previous game, a 124-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Bridges recorded 41 points. While there have been talks that Bridges won’t return to this team next season, they may want to reconsider that idea solely on the fact that he's a promising young player who can help this franchise turn things around.
Last season, Miles Bridges missed the entire 2022-2023 NBA season due to his role in a domestic violence case that took place in 2022. He could have certainly helped out the team last season, as the Hornets posted a 27-55 record. In 39 games played and in 37 starts, Bridges is averaging around 37 minutes a night on the court. He averages about 22 points, seven rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block a game. During the loss against the Lakers, Miles put up 41 points, and four assists. Last night, Bridges had 45 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Before Brandon Miller came along, Bridges was considered the second-best player on the team behind LaMelo Ball. While Charlotte’s two cornerstone pieces will unlikely be moved anytime soon, Bridges will become a free agent at the season’s end.
Mile Bridges was asked about potentially getting traded today before the NBA Trade Deadline. His response was, “My answer doesn’t change”. This just proves Miles wants to be a Hornet and help change the culture around for this franchise. It may take some, but once these players have a few years of NBA experience under their belt, they could be one of the best teams coming out of the Eastern Conference. Can Miles Bridges continue performing like an NBA all-star?
