Exciting Big Ten Final

The Big Ten final was a nail-biter showcasing impressive skill sets. Wisconsin came into the game with high expectations after upsetting Purdue who was heavily favored. Yet a tough Illinois team proved to be too much for them. Illinois took the victory 93-87 after great performances from Terrance Shannon and Marcus Domask. Shannon put together an incredible stat line of 34 points on over 50% shooting while Domask had 26 points seven rebounds and eight assists.

The game had huge scoring runs and constantly having lead changes. At one point Wisconsin was even up 10 while the biggest lead for Illinois was only six and that was the end of the game. There were many impressive performances as well for Wisconsin. Guard AJ Storr continued his dominance that he has shown this tournament with yet another high-scoring game. Storr contributed 24 points while also being a menace on defense, gathering three steals for the team. As well Guard Chucky Hepburn put together another strong game, getting hot early and finishing with 20 points.

For Illinois, this is a huge step in the right direction, and they will now be a team no one wants to see in the March Madness tournament. Illinois will be a third seed and will be matching up in the first round with Akron. Akron features an impressive forward who has lots to prove in front of what is expected to be a huge audience. The Senior Enrique Freeman is only 6-7 yet leads the entire country in rebounds per game with 12.9. To go with that he also averages 18.6 points. Keeping him in check will be the key for Illinois to take the win. They come into the game as huge favorites although due to Freeman’s skill set, this game may be closer than many people expect.
