One Match Confirmed for Bash in Berlin During Monday Night RAW

WWE

During the opening of Monday Night RAW last night, Ludwig Kaiser announced ‘The Ring General’ Gunther to the ring. Gunther cut a promo on how he will be one of the best World Heavyweight champions we have ever seen, and how no one could defeat him for the title. All of a sudden, ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton’s music hit which was strange as we’ve seen Orton deal with ‘The Bloodline’ for the past several weeks on SmackDown. First, ‘The Legend Killer’ said he wanted to congratulate ‘The Ring General’ for winning at SummerSlam. Then, he talked about how even though the referee pinned him for a three count against Gunther at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event, Orton’s shoulders were off the mat. The 14-time World Champion announced that everyone wants to see the sequel of Orton vs. Gunther and that ‘The Viper’ will challenge the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion in his home country of Germany at Bash in Berlin.

With it being official that Orton will face off against Gunter for a second time at Bash in Berlin, the entire WWE Universe has been given a treat. This is an opportunity to end Gunther’s short reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, which would make Orton a 15-time World Champion, just below 16-time World Champions Ric Flair and John Cena. For ‘The Ring General’, this is a chance to show why he’s not only one of the best heels but one of the best wrestlers in the WWE. If Gunther wins, he’ll be 2-0 against Orton, and he could say he defeated ‘The Legend Killer’ in his home country of Germany. Plus, if Gunther could beat one of the best of all time, then who could possibly stop his reign as champion? The opportunities within this match’s storyline could be endless.

During he was interrupted by Orton, Gunther laid out his impressive resume of being the NXT United Kingdom Champion for 870 days, being the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion with a reign of 666 days, and the King of the Ring. When Orton came to the ring, he talked about how he down plenty of so-called '“legends” and he could end the legacy of Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship reign before it begins to really take off. His match at SummerSlam against Damian Priest was one of the most exciting matches of the show. ‘The Ring General’s’ match against ‘The Legend Killer’ in Berlin should go down as one of the best matches of the year. It will certainly be interesting to see over the next few weeks until August 31st what happens. Will Orton keep making appearances on RAW? Could we see Gunther show up on SmackDown?
