Rock and Reigns vs. Rhodes and Rollins Set for WrestleMania XL

WWE Smackdown resulted in one of the most blockbuster TagTeam matches in recent history. In the last segment of the March 8 episode, Roman Reigns, The Rock, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins were all brought into one ring, with tempers brewing about a potential meet-up on the first night of WrestleMania. The Rock and Reigns had recently challenged Rhodes and Rollins to a two-on-two match, and up until Smackdown it was in Rollins’ hands to finish the deal. After the fighting action was over, the segment started around 9:30 EST, with the current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, entering the arena.

Extra security was in attendance, hinting that bad blood is on the rise. Once again, Reigns was outperformed by The Rock, as he electrified the place with his flashing lightning bolt entrance. Although Reigns looked a bit soured by this, the two joined together and yelled for acknowledgment. Rhodes and Rollins made their way out together, like Rollins used to with The Shield through the crowd, which by the reactions, the crowd loved.

Words were exchanged between the four after The Rock’s first promo was cut off by crowd chants. Rollins then stepped in, calling The Rock, “Mr. Midlife Crisis.” He then went on to accept the challenge from The Rock and Reigns, officially setting the stage for a massive main event on Night 1 of WrestleMania. The night ended with The Rock calling Rhodes a mistake, to which Rhodes got The Rock back from a few weeks ago and slapped him across the face. WWE Smackdown was then rushed off the air, solidifying a star-studded matchup just one month away from WrestleMania XL.
