Samantha Irvin Bids Farewell to WWE

WWE

Samantha Johnson, known to fans as Samantha Irvin, has officially announced the conclusion of her role as the ring announcer for Monday Night Raw. Over the years, Irvin has captured the hearts of fans with her dynamic voice and infectious enthusiasm, bringing a unique flair to superstar introductions. Most notably her memorable announcement style for Chelsea Green. In a heartfelt letter shared on social media, Johnson expressed her gratitude to the fans, the women's locker room, and the dedicated camera crew. She also thanked notable figures such as Michael Cole, Michael Hayes, Paul Heyman, and Jesse “Road Dogg” James, among others. A lifelong wrestling enthusiast since 1989, her passion has shone through in her announcing style. Her departure has left fans feeling nostalgic, as she had a distinctive talent for portraying faces with heroism and heels with a touch of menace. A poignant moment came at WrestleMania 40, where she was heard tearfully announcing Cody Rhodes as the new WWE Champion.

Irvin's unique announcements for the original Bloodline of  Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn became a fan favorite as well. In her personal life, she is engaged to Trevor Mann, better known as Ricochet, who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling. She was part of a storyline during his feud with Logan Paul leading up to the 2023 SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Fans may use this departure as her way to potentially move to AEW, Ricochet recently clarified on Twitter that she will not be joining the promotion.

Beyond wrestling, Johnson is a talented singer who served as the lead female vocalist for Michael Jackson’s tribute show, Thriller-Live, from 2011 to 2015. While her departure may be disappointing for many, it could signal her desire to focus on her music career. Whatever path she chooses, there’s no doubt that Johnson will pour her heart and soul into it. She will continue to shine as a remarkable talent.
