Seven-Year Pro Offensive Tackle Signs to the Giants
Since 2017, seven-year pro-offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor has played on three different teams in his NFL career, in addition to being signed to two other team’s practice squads before being cut. Eluemunor has been a member of the Las Vegas Raiders since the 2021 season. Last season, the team started off horrendously, but once Antonio Pierce was named the Raiders interim head coach, every player got behind their new head coach and was beyond motivated to win. Although they didn’t make the playoffs, the Las Vegas Raiders went 8-9, barely missing the playoffs. Jermaine became a free agent at the end of the season, today he signed with the New York Giants for two years, 14 million dollars.
Jermaine Eluemunor attended Lackawanna College in Scranton Pennsylvania from 2012-2013, before finally committing to Texas A&M. The future seven-year pro played at Texas A&M from 2014-2016. He made his first start with the Aggies during the 2015 Music City Bowl. During his senior year, he started in 12 out of 13 games, with three games played at right guard, and the other nine at right tackle. Eluemunor was selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the 159th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. A few seasons later during the 2019 offseason, the Ravens traded Jermaine to the New England Patriots. He signed with the Raiders during the 2021 preseason.
Last season, Eluemunor played in all 17 games for the Raiders. Las Vegas ranked 14th by allowing 40 sacks on their multiple quarterbacks this season. The Raiders got hot too late into the season, if they started off the way they ended the year, they could have been an AFC playoff team. Las Vegas allowed fewer sacks than playoff teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. The seven-year pro-offensive tackle must do the same thing with the Giants during the 2024 season.
