Should the Milwaukee Bucks Panic?
The Milwaukee Bucks have disappointed fans, betters, and management as of the first two weeks of the NBA season, as thought of title contenders, this team has struggled to look relevant whatsoever. At a 1-6 start to the season, with their only win coming from their 2024-2025 Opening Night matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, this Bucks team doesn’t have the answers we expected them to after being bounced out of the first round by the Indiana Pacers last season. The Pacers and the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers are two of four teams at or over .500 in the Eastern Conference at this time. While there is still plenty of time to regroup, win games, and become a powerhouse in the East, should the Milwaukee Bucks panic?
Over the course of the season thus far, Milwaukee has fallen to the Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Their last two games were against the Cavs, where they lost both games by a combined three points. During Monday’s encounter with Cleveland, the Bucks were without their star in, Giannis Antetokounmpo. While the “Greek Freak, alongside Damian Lillard, has done everything they can in these past seven games, the wins are not coming along, and that’s not a good sign for what’s to come. This Bucks team also must be in a panic because if they don’t win and head to another NBA Finals, their superstar, former MVP in Antetokounmpo, will reluctantly ask for a trade. The former NBA Champion has talked about Chicago being a beautiful city and how he would love to play for the Bulls. Milwaukee as a whole will flip out beyond measurement if their star signed or was traded to one of their biggest rivals.
Milwaukee faces a challenge tonight. They’ll be playing the Utah Jazz, who are in the same position the Bucks are at 1-6. Instead of having a formidable perennial superstar who’s made an impact in the league, the Jazz have one superstar developing in Lauri Markkanen. The Bucks are home during this matchup; if they catch another loss, there may be hell to pay. Whether that starts with Doc Rivers being fired or someone is on the trade block. Utah has a severely young team looking to restart their glory in the mountains. If they can grab the win over a Bucks team with two all-stars attached, the Jazz could gain some well-needed confidence. It’s now or never for the Bucks; the panic mode could be real if they don’t get these early wins.
