Six-Year Pro Center Agrees to Terms with the Seattle Seahawks

NFL

Originally playing guard, Miami Dolphins center Connor Williams switched to the position once he signed to the team back in 2022. The team would make moves which allowed Connor to be the starting center during the 2023 season. Last season did not go as planned for Williams, during Week Three he suffered a groin injury, and by Week Ten it was announced he would be out for the season, as the six-year pro center tore his ACL. Now fully healthy, and a free agent, Williams has just agreed to terms with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. Hopefully, the guard turned center can now get his career back on track.

Connor WIlliams played three years of college football at the University of Texas. By his sophomore season, he was considered by coaches and the media to be one of the best offensive guards in all of college football. He would forgo his senior year at the University of Texas in favor of the 2018 NFL Draft. During the draft, the future six-year pro center would be selected as the 50th overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys. After a few high and low moments in his four years with the Cowboys, Williams agreed to a two-year deal with the Dolphins in 2022.

Although the six-year pro center only played in ten games last season, the Dolphins had one of the best offensive lines in the league. They protected, and defended their quarterback from harm's way as they were ranked within the top five. This will be a huge season for Connor as the question of him staying healthy will stay relevant all year long. He’s torn his ACL in two different seasons, many guys are not the same after this devastating injury. Now, a fully healthy Connor WIlliams must prove himself with the Seahawks during the 2024 season.
