Super Bowl LVI Safety Signs to the Panthers
It was only just two seasons ago when the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI by a score of 23-20. Rams’ safety Jordan Fuller unfortunately did not get to play in the Super Bowl due to an ankle injury he sustained late in the 2021 season, but by the end of the night, he earned himself a Super Bowl ring. Los Angeles shocked everyone this past season when they made the playoffs. Although they would get eliminated by the Detroit Lions, the Rams proved a lot of doubters wrong this season, as well as Fuller, who became a free agent at the end of the season. Today it was just announced, that the Super Bowl LVI champion safety has signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.
Jordan Fuller played from 2016 to 2019 at Ohio State University. During his time as a Buckeye, he earned himself a Third-Team All-Big Ten nod in 2017, a Second-Team All-Big Ten nod in 2018, and he was named to the First-Team All-Big Ten in 2019. During the 2020 NFL Draft, the future Super Bowl LVI champion was selected in the sixth round by the Rams as the 199th overall pick. He was named a starter during the 2021 season, and due to his ankle injury, he only appeared in three games in 2022.
Last season, Fuller played in all 17 games with the Rams. He recorded 94 combined tackles, 61 being solo tackles, while the other 33 were assisted tackles. Jordan also had one tackle for a loss of yardage, eight pass deflections, and three interceptions, in which he ran back in total for 39 yards. The 26-year-old Super Bowl LVI champion safety will look to stay healthy and have a dominant season with the Panthers.
