The New York Football Giants Cut 2015 Pro Bowl Wide Receiver

NFL

The New York football Giants have been navigating a period of uncertainty, making cuts across their 53-man roster as the season's start looms within the next two weeks. Many players have been released, while others have found a place on the practice squad. The team has seen numerous cuts, some of which were unexpected, leaving the affected players in a state of surprise and uncertainty about their future in the game.

Allen Robinson was cut from the Giants roster. The former wide receiver, who has done so much in the last decade, was surprised to find that he had been cut from New York. He didn’t see it coming and thought he had a position for this coming season. A lot of fans are surprised that he was cut from the football team altogether. He has done great work. Robinson has 562 career receptions for 7,028 yards and 43 touchdowns from his ten seasons. He has played on multiple teams, including the Jaguars, the Rams, the Steelers, and the Bears.

He only signed with the Giants in early May. He had signed a one-year deal worth $1.4 million, but the Giants only guaranteed him $25,000 of it. He had to come to the team and show what he had. He had to prove to the Giants that he had legs to use as a wide receiver and could make a tremendous difference for the team. He had to show them what he had to offer, and for the Giants, the most significant milestone that Robinson proved was that he could be the one to do it all and that he stayed healthy throughout the entire summer and through training camps.

The thing was, he just turned 31 this past weekend. He is slowing down but still moving down the field to the best of his ability. He was reliable to the Giants but less explosive than they needed him to be. Robinson, however, during preseason did play. He played on 27 of the 67 snaps that were thrown.

The Giants will continue to make roster cuts. Most spots are filled, and the Giants will name their official positions by Tuesday evening. The problem is that Robinson's position needs to allow for room. If the Giants go with seven positions, Robinson and Isaiah Hodgins will be considered for the final spots. It’s been complex decision-making all over the league, and this just happened to be one of the larger ones.
