The Premier League Title Race Is Heating Up
Following Match Week 35, there have been many different changes in the run-in of games that the three title challengers have faced. Arsenal have been on a good run of form, defeating Wolves 2-0, then going on to demolish their London rivals Chelsea 5-0, and then in one of the most difficult games of the season, they went to Spurs away and grabbed three points to show that they are a serious team. The main player who has been putting in a shift throughout these games is 65 million-pound signing Kai Havertz. He scored a brace vs. Chelsea while also scoring and assisting vs. Spurs. Arsenal seems to be a serious contender for the 2023–2024 Premier League trophy.
Manchester City is no stranger to these different run-ins. They have been unbeaten in their last 19 Premier League games. Man City has many different players that can provide a good run of success. Phil Foden, the English international, has 24 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Manchester City. They scored a brace in an important game vs. Brighton. His run of form has contributed so much to this Manchester City team. An underrated player who has been great for Manchester City comes from the backline. Joško Gvardiol has been immense during their 19-game streak in the Premier League. Of course, when you look at his price tag, you should expect that, but he is a young, upcoming defender who has a lot of time to improve.
Liverpool have been on form throughout the whole Premier League season, but they have hit a huge drought, which basically kicked them out of the title race. They had a tough game away at United, in which they drew the game 2-2. You can say this started their bad run of form. They went on to lose to Atalanta in the Europa League with a 3-1 aggregate score. Then, in the Premier League, they were stunned by Crystal Palace’s England star Eberechi Eze, in which they lost 1-0. Then they lost 2-0 to Everton away. Also went on to draw against West Ham 2-2. The title race is heating up, with Arsenal having three games to play and Manchester City having four games to play.
