The Yearly Giants and Cowboys Preview

NFL

The New York Football Giants have just had a great start to their week. They are just fresh off their first win after playing in Cleveland. Thankfully, they are coming back at 1-2 instead of 0-3. They will be returning to their home, the Meadowlands, in MetLife Stadium this week for Thursday night’s game. This week, they will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys. Many fans are both excited about this classic matchup and are nervous at the same time. There are several factors of concern and hope the Giants will be facing in Week Four.

The Giants and the Cowboys have had a history of playing one another. They first played against one another in December of 1960. This rivalry has met 124 times. This also includes one postseason game between the two teams. Dallas has the favorite overall, winning 75 games, while the Giants have won 47 times. The two teams have also tied twice in the history of this match-up.

The Giants are hoping to bring the heat in this weekend's game. As any divisional rivals do, they met with Dallas twice last season. During Week One last season, the Giants were crushed in a 40-0 loss. Then again in November, where they were upset by the Cowboys again in a 49-17 loss.

In Cleveland, the Giants had a better attitude than they have had in a long time. They went out and played and had fun. This was something that the Giants had been missing for a long time. They needed a win in the best way possible before they faced the Cowboys this weekend. The Giants are changing their mindset on things to move ahead. They had two games that blew them out of the water in the first two weeks, and this past week helped them feel better about things.

There are a few tools the Giants have that will be able to get through and hopefully have a win at home against Dallas. They have Malik Nabers, the man who is considered to be the new weapon of the team. He has so far managed to score touchdowns along with Devin Singletary in the last few games; this could factor into multiple things. Daniel Jones has been working hard, too, and trying to make ends meet with his receivers. Last week, he did a pretty decent job. The Giants need to protect the ball on Thursday night at all costs.

The Giants also have their defense. Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. These three are basically the defensive line at this point. They are the ones who have stepped forward to make the stops that need to be made. On the other hand, The Giants have had a ton of issues with their special teams, with the loss of their kicker, Graham Gano, the Giants had to figure out a backup plan. They signed Greg Joseph to fill in. The Giants will need to clean up the special teams and make sure they are in tip-top shape before Thursday night's game. The only concerns that stand in the way for the Giants are certain players of the Cowboys. Those being CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs, two of the Cowboys’ big players. However, the Giants shouldn’t have any issues with stopping them if they just stay in their rhythm.
