This 35-Year-Old Point Guard Is Headed to Play in Israel After Disgusting Playoff Exit

NBA

The Milwaukee Bucks season ended surprisingly as they were eliminated in the first round in six games by division rival, the Indiana Pacers. During that heartbreaking loss, Milwaukee’s backup point guard Patrick Beverley threw a ball at a Pacers fan who was sitting in the crowd. This disgusting act has left a sour taste in many people’s mouths as Beverley did not show any remorse once or after it happened. Today, to say the least, was surprising as the 35-year-old point guard signed a one-year deal worth around $2 million with Hapoel Tel Aviv BC of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.

Beverley signed a multi-year deal with the Rockets back in 2013. He played with Houston for five seasons before being acquired by the Los Angeles Clippers along with several other players in exchange for Chris Paul. The 35-year-old point guard was a Clipper for five seasons until the end of the 2021 NBA regular season. Since then, Beverley has played with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Milwaukee Bucks. This will now be Patrick’s eighth team he has played for since beginning his professional basketball career.

The 35-year-old point guard played 73 total games with the 76ers and the Bucks last season. He averaged about six points, three rebounds, three assists, and a steal during 20 minutes a game. Beverley shot 42 percent from the floor, 34 from beyond the arc, and 82 percent from the free-throw line. His best game of the 2023-2024 regular season was when he was a member of the Sixers. On December 1st, Beverley scored 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting along with eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in a 125-119 loss against the Boston Celtics. Hopefully, the ambitious veteran point guard will keep his same competitive spirit, but this time use it to help guide Hapoel to success.
