Three Questions to Ask After Backlash

WWE

WWE Backlash in Lyon, France was a huge success as it was the first Premium live event of the new era. Five exciting matches took place, and the France crowd was on their feet most of the night. Titles switched hands, new faces arrived on the scene, and tension came about throughout the night. With Backlash now in the rearview, a lot of questions need to be asked and answered as fans are curious.

Who Will Be Cody’s Next Challenger for the WWE Universal Championship?

After Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title against “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, he said in the press conference following that, “It is the kind of fight I would like to get into one more time.” Somewhere down the line, we may see them square off once again. When asked who he wants to face next, he said, “LA Knight is somebody that I look at.” Those two being stars in their own way would put on one heck of a match if they ever crossed paths. Cody also mentioned a man who he has his eye on as an opponent when he returns. “I’m not going to say his name, but he had a birthday the other day and he returned a gift to me that I did not appreciate and when that man returns, I’d like to take something from him as well.”

Are There Cracks in The Judgement Day?

Damian Priest successfully retained his World Heavyweight Championship against “Main Event” Jey Uso with a little help from Judgement Day members Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. As of late, Priest has felt that he doesn’t need help from any of his faction members at all. Once the match was over, Finn and JD started attacking Uso. Priest then decided to push them off Uso and say to them, “That’s enough, he’s done!” With Rhea Ripley having to vacate her Women’s Championship due to a shoulder injury at the hands of Liv Morgan, who knows how things are going to run within The Judgement Day?

What’s Next for The Bloodline?

The team of Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga scored the pinfall win over Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in a street fight. Randy and Kevin thought they had the match won after Owens drove Tanga with a brain buster through a set of chairs. As the referee was making the count, a new face arrived to pull the ref out of the ring. That man was none other than Tama Tonga’s brother, Tanga Loa. The newest member of The Bloodline took out Orton and Owens using the steel steps, which was followed by a Samoan Spike from Sikoa to Owens to secure the pinfall victory. Paul Heyman was in shock after seeing what he had just witnessed. With Tanga Loa now side-by-side with Solo Skoa and Tama Tonga, the newly reinvented Bloodline is stronger than ever. What is Paul Heyman going to do after all of this?
