Timberwolves Sweep the Suns

NBA

While Minnesota may have come out on top of all three prior games of this series, we all knew that Game Four was going to be nothing short of special. This game from beginning to end was a great example of a showcase of talent, with both teams displaying incredible skill and determination on the court. It may be true that no one expected the Suns to get swept going into this series, but now after watching the whole series, I think it is without question that the Timberwolves are the better team here, which is exactly what a 4-0 sweep shows. As the Suns now head into their offseason the big question in the room is: What moves can we make to be better? When you think about the fact that Phoenix has no first-round picks from 2025-2030 and too many big contracts to make a lot of trades, they have to look to try to build more team chemistry and find more role players to help out their stars. Let’s take a look at how Minnesota got this win!

The Timberwolves came out strong, led by the dynamic duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. Towns dominated the paint with his impressive scoring and rebounding, finishing the game with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Edwards, one of the league’s most impressive young stars, put on a scoring clinic, pouring in a team-high 40 points to lead Minnesota to victory. Supporting their stars, Jaden McDaniels and Mike Conley made significant contributions, providing crucial points and playmaking throughout the game. McDaniels showcased his versatility with 18 points, while Conley orchestrated the offense with 10 points and seven assists.

However, facing elimination the Suns were not going down without a fight. The Suns received a monumental performance from their star guard, Devin Booker, who exploded for a staggering 49 points. Booker’s scoring barrage kept the Suns in contention until the final moments of the game. Phoenix was also led in this one by their other star Kevin Durant, who finished with 33 points and nine rebounds. Despite both of these guys' resilience and determination, they could not receive enough help from the rest of their team in this one and it was Minnesota who went home with the victory 122-116. With this win the Timberwolves have won their first playoff series since 2004 and are the first team to advance to the 2024 NBA Playoff Conference Semi-Finals. While they await their future opponent the real question is: How far can Minnesota go this year?
