What Are the Biggest Storylines in WWE Right Now?

WWE

We’ve now hit the halfway point of 2024 and a lot has happened in the first half of the year in WWE. New eras have begun, new faces have arrived, titles have changed hands, and Kings and Queens have been crowned. As we look forward to the back half of 2024, there are a lot of key storylines and concerns to be looked at closely. It’s truly an interesting time to be invested in WWE if you’re a wrestling fan.

Why Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk Will Be a Showdown for the Ages?

Wrestling fans around the world are chomping at the bit to see this match. Ever since CM Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames last November, he has made an enemy out of Drew McIntyre for quite some time now. Every promo McIntyre has cut since then, he’s mentioned CM Punk in some way to the point where it’s getting hilarious now. Punk cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40, and Drew can’t seem to get CM Punk out of his head since then. Punk claimed that once he comes back from rehabbing his tricep, he’s coming straight for Drew McIntyre. The perfect setting for this match would have to be at SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio. However first, Drew McIntyre has a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity against Damian Priest in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. Will Drew get his moment in his hometown? Will CM Punk interfere and cost McIntyre the match?

The Judgement Day Has a Liv Morgan Problem and a Braun Strowman Problem

Ever since Liv Morgan defeated Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring to become the new Women’s World Champion, she has taken quite an interest in “Dirty” Dominick Mysterio. Last week on Raw, Dominick accidentally helped Liv retain her title, which was followed by a kiss between the two as Raw went off the air. What does Rhea Ripley think about this? How will Judgement Day deal with it? On the other hand, Judgement Day also has the “Monster of all Monsters” to deal with, Braun Strowman. On the May 13th edition of Raw, JD McDonagh issued a warning to Braun Strowman to not interfere in Judgement Day business. Since then, they've had monster problems to deal with as Braun continues to wreak havoc on Judgement Day. How will Judgement Day deal with this monster?

When Will the Alpha Academy Pull the Trigger and Turn on Chad Gable?

It’s been over a month since Chad Gable attacked Sami Zayn in his hometown of Montreal after losing another Intercontinental Championship opportunity. Since then, Gable has been doing nothing but blaming his losses on his Alpha Academy students Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri and referring to them as “failures.” Last week on Raw following an Otis loss to “Big” Bronson Reed, Chad Gable called the entire Alpha Academy out to ring to tell them that they lack discipline. Chad took off his belt and was about to whip Otis with it, but Maxxine stopped Gable from doing so. Sami Zayn then came out to tell the Alpha Academy to listen to their hearts and stop following Chad Gable. Two nights ago on Raw, Sami Zayn said he would put an end to Chad Gable’s tyranny of the Alpha Academy by defending his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable one more time at Clash of the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland. The Alpha Academy is getting closer and closer to turning on Gable. Will Chad Gable have his moment and win the Intercontinental Championship title? Will the Alpha Academy turn on Chad Gable? The world wants to see it, so hopefully it takes place.
