Why the Motor City Machine Guns Will Become the New WWE Tag Team Champions
Last night, the Motor City Machine Guns made their debut on Friday Night SmackDown. The duo was put in a triple-threat tag team battle to determine the number one contender for The Bloodline’s WWE Tag Team titles. They faced off against Legado Del Fantasma and A-Town Down Under. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin showed the WWE Universe how they became so successful with Shelley getting the pin over Legado Del Fantasma’s Humberto Carrillo. Now, next week on SmackDown, the Motor City Machine Guns will be going head-to-head with #DIY to determine the number-one contender for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
We have seen #DIY involved in the tag title scene multiple times throughout the year. Most likely, we’ll see some fresh faces going after The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. With the entire Bloodline storyline conversing on both Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, it wouldn’t be crazy to say that the two Tongans become too distracted with what’s happening with Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and the rest of the original Bloodline. The Motor City Machine Guns are given the opportunity to become faces as they challenge the Togans for their tag gold. Having achieved success in TNA with three tag title wins, as well as in Ring of Honor and New Japan, it’s time for the Machine Guns to pursue the ultimate tag team titles in this lucrative industry.
The WWE is pushing towards Survivor Series WarGames which takes place on November 30th. Many are anticipating an old vs. new Bloodline battle which could go down as not only one of the greatest WarGame matches but one of most exciting Survivor Series matchups in history. The Motor City Machine Guns are here to stay and will look to make a long-lasting impact with a title reign people recognize and respect. It will certainly be interesting to see where and how far the Machine Guns run in the WWE will go.
