Which Superstar Will Most Likely Obtain the IC Title Over “Main Event” Jey Uso

WWE

On September 23rd, “Main Event” Jey Uso became the new Intercontinental champion after defeating Bron Breakker in the main event on Monday Night Raw. For a little less than a month, Jey has defended his title against Xavier Woods of The New Day and will be defending it again against Breakker this upcoming Monday on Raw once again. While Bron is always a heavy-hitter and could quite possibly take the title off the younger Uso twin to win the Intercontinental title for a second time since his call-up from NXT, there is a wide variety of talent on the roster that may take the title away from “Main Event” Jey Uso. The big question is who? Here are my three top choices for who could be the next IC champ.

  1. Big Bronson Reed

Throughout 2024 Big Bronson Reed has been on a defiant run. His feud with Braun Strowman which culminated in a Last Monster Standing match was unbelievable. Bronson decided it was time to make a name for himself and he quickly did in the span of two weeks when he took out Seth “Freaking Rollins”, The Miz, and R-Truth. Tsunami after Tsunami, Reed showed the WWE Universe he isn’t playing around, as the big man wants some respect and ultimately gold around his waist. It wouldn’t be that far off to say by the end of 2024, Bronson Reed’s attention may lie to Jey Uso and his Intercontinental Championship. It may well be certainly before the start of Survivor Series WarGames, where we’ll probably see Jey partner with his brother Jimmy Uso and his uncle Roman Reigns. 2024 may end with Bronson Reed tearing up the competition as the new IC champ, but we’ll have to see how his feud with Rollins ends.

2. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio

With the new Judgement Day at complete control with Liv Morgan as Women’s World Champion plus Finn Balor and JD McDonagh as World Tag Champions, it may only be fitting to have “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio take the Intercontinental Championship off of Jey Uso. Through all the cheating, and four-on-one or even five-on-one beatdowns, the new Judgement Day isn’t falling so easily. “Dirty” Dom is looking for his first gold on the main roster and it could gladly come at the expense of Jey Uso’s likeness for Mysterio’s old mami Rhea Ripley. If Jey sees Ripley getting hurt, he’ll come to her rescue, however, his title may come at the expense of helping Rhea. The Judgement Day faction would only grow stronger with more gold, and it may be intimidating for some superstars to go after Mysterio knowing the risk of they could get beaten on by everyone in the faction at any time. While Mysterio is heavily involved in the Rhea/Liv feud, it may benefit the story to have him win the title.

3. Jacon Fatu

We’re slowly getting closer to Survivor Series WarGame and it will most likely be the old vs. the new Bloodline. Recently Jimmy has tried to get Jey and Roman on board in teaming up once again, yet, it’s only a matter of time until something wild happens which forces the three of them to reignite like old times. While that is most likely the scenario we’re heading toward, we may see The Bloodline invade both Raw and SmackDown. The new Bloodline may head on Raw to speak or beat up Jey. With the Togans having Tag gold and Solo Sikoa’s focus on the WWE Undisputed Championship, this leaves Jacob Fatu as the only option who could take down “Main Event'“ Jey Uso. The “Samoan Werewolf” is incredible to watch in the ring and may destroy the younger Uso twin at the expense of the story which will lead to WarGames.
