Will the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble Go After the NXT Women’s Championship?
On the February 3rd episode of Monday Night Raw, the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair was met with boos by a hostile Cleveland crowd. She tried ignoring the negativity, however, the crowd erupted when Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley came out. Both Flair and Ripley have a well-known past with Flair defeating Ripley, who was the NXT Women’s Champion at the time at WrestleMania 36 to win her second NXT Women’s Championship. The second time Rhea became the SmackDown Women’s Champion after defeating Flair at WrestleMania 39. The confrontation between the two of them Monday night raised questions on whether we would see a part three between these two superstars. However, Charlotte told Rhea that she would be appearing on NXT and SmackDown to see if NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and new WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton appeal to her liking.
While we may most likely see Flair against Stratton or Ripley, ‘The Queen’ may very well surprise us all and challenge Giulia, to possibly win her third NXT Women’s Championship, as she would be the first women’s superstar to win the NXT Women’s Championship three times. With an already stacked NXT women’s division, Flair could join the centerfold and bring NXT superstars like Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Stephanie Vaquer, and more to the big stage. As part of the original Four Horsewomen of NXT, Flair may usher in this new era of NXT by entering herself into the picture. Seeing Ripley against Flair in a part three would be cool, and watching Stratton take on Flair would be a fantastic match, but Giulia against ‘The Queen’ would be insane and many WWE fans would be anticipating this matchup even though some are not the biggest fans of Charlotte. It would bring Giulia to the grandest stage in all of WWE; WrestleMania and I’m sure that’s what many on the inside of WWE want to see as well.
As much as I would like to see Stratton against ‘The Queen’, seeing Giulia get her must-deserved shine at WrestleMania would be fantastic. It also makes NXT something that people would want to tune in to more every Tuesday. The NXT women’s division has been on a roll as of the last couple of months, adding Charlotte to this mix would make the brand even more intriguing to viewers. A third NXT Women’s Championship would put her in front of two-time winners such as Shayna Baszler and Roxanne Perez and of course the most dominant NXT and women’s champion of all time. If picked, could Giulia defend her NXT Women’s Championship against the likes of someone like Charlotte Flair?
