WWE Performance Center Moving to Las Vegas?

WWE

As reported by WrestleVotes earlier this week, WWE may be planning to move the Performance Center from their home in Orlando, FL to Las Vegas, NV. Then FightFul Select has reported that WWE is not moving. What is happening? How does the roster and staff feel about this? Is this truly a move or is it an additional venue?

The WWE Performance Center was founded on July 11th, 2013 in Orlando, FL. Having Paul “Triple H” Leveque, William Regal, and Dusty Rhodes as key members of the facility. The PC replaced their original developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, and is now used as a training and tryout facility for current and new WWE Superstars. It also serves as the home arena for their current developmental territory, NXT where Shawn Michaels is in charge. It also served as the home arena for all WWE shows, such as Raw and SmackDown during the COVID-19 pandemic until they moved to the ThunderDome in Tampa, FL for the 2020 SummerSlam Premium Live Event. During the pandemic, the PC was briefly rebranded as the Capitol Wrestling Center in homage to Vince McMahon Sr.’s Capitol Wrestling Corporation. Other than New York, Orlando was seen as WWE’s home, and most of the NXT and main roster reside in Florida. They also opened a Performance Center in London, England in 2019.

After it was reported from WrestleVotes that the PC was moving to Las Vegas, Sean Ross Sapp from FightFul reported that WWE had no intentions of moving. Then WrestleVotes followed up by stating that their source is still “very confident” and that it “will not be done overnight and only time will tell.” If they do move, is it a good or bad situation? WWE merged with the UFC and founded TKO Group Holdings Inc., and Las Vegas is seen as the home of the UFC. NXT once held Battleground in the UFC Apex in Vegas. There have been rumors for years that WWE wanted to open more PCs in the United States, but if this is a move, what is the current developmental talent going to do? Will they have to move to Vegas from Orlando? Is NXT going to travel around the world similar to the main roster? As WrestleVotes stated, only time will tell.
