Six-Year Cowboy Now Signs to the Commanders
After winning the NFC East division last season over the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, many out there believe this was finally the year for the Cowboys to get over the hump. However, the Green Bay Packers absolutely manhandled Dallas in a 48-22 matchup. Following six great seasons in Dallas, defensive end Dorance Armstrong became a free agent, and today signed with the Washington Commanders
Dorance Armstrong played three seasons at the University of Kansas. As a sophomore, the future six-year Cowboy broke out. He led the team and was second in the conference with 10 sacks, which was the most by a Jayhawk player since 2008. Armstrong also posted 56 tackles which was ranked fifth on the team, and 20 tackles for loss which happens to rank fifth in Jayhawks’ history. Even though his play regressed during his junior year, Dorance announced he would forgo his senior season and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the fourth round as the 116th overall pick.
Last season, Armstrong played in all 17 games for the Cowboys. The six-year Cowboy recorded 38 combined tackles, 20 of those were solo tackles, and the other 18 were assisted tackles. He also had seven tackles for a loss of yardage, seven and a half sacks, and a pass deflection. During the Cowboys’ first game of the season, a 40-0 blowout win against the New York Giants, Dorance recorded three solo tackles, and three sacks which resulted in a loss of yardage.
