The Worst Clock Management in History

NFL

It would be a lie to say that the win for the Lions on Thanksgiving was a pretty one. The Lions did not beat the Bears. The Bears beat themselves through stupid mistakes. The Chicago Bears showed some of the worst time management skills ever seen in the NFL.

What Happened

The Lions and the Bears looked like they might go into overtime. The Bears had one timeout. The score was 23-20, and the Bears were trailing. The Bears were in field goal range. It was second down with a little over 30 seconds left in the game.  Caleb Williams dropped back and was sacked. The clock began to tick. Williams looked at the sideline and attempted to get his players to the line quickly.  However, he was not quick enough. The clock ticked from 30 seconds to 15, and no timeout was called. By the time Williams snapped the ball, there were five seconds left. He threw the ball; it was incomplete, and the game was over.

I would be lying if I said that the win for the Lions on Thanksgiving was a pretty one. The Bears beat themselves in the most pivotal moment of the game. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Chicago Bears organization in the future. However, it is safe to say that change is needed. The Lions still lead their division and have put themselves in a great position moving forward.
