Why It’s Bron Breakker’s Time to Be Intercontinental Champion
Last night on Monday Night RAW, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn faced off against “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio. The match would end in a no-contest as The Judgement Day got involved on behalf of Mysterio. During all the madness, Bron Breakker showed up to put a beat down on Zayn before their match on Saturday at SummerSlam. After losing at Money in the Bank to Zayn, Breakker is ready to step his game up and take on the task at hand to become the new Intercontinental Champion. With the current champion receiving a brutal beat down last night, it may become more apparent by the end of Saturday night that we may have a new Intercontinental Champion in Bron Breakker.
Breakker is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner. His father spent most of his career in a tag team with his brother Rick Steiner. However, once Scott became a single competitor he was better known as “Big Poppa Pump” and challenged numerous champions for their respective titles. Breakker might finally receive something his father never could that being a single’s championship. The younger Steiner is expected to have a huge, and blossoming WWE career, so this Intercontinental Championship may be the first of many for Breakker. Zayn has put the title on the line numerous times since winning it against Gunther at WrestleMania XL. If Breakker wins, it will certainly be intriguing how long his reign will be.
The card for this year’s SummerSlam is stacked and should be an event to remember. This should be one of the best SummerSlam we’ve seen, with so much happening, and the possible return of Roman Reigns, it could go down in the history books as one of the best ever. Breakker winning his first single’s title at SummerSlam could be just the beginning of his young, promising career. It’s his time to be a champion and make a household name for himself.
